On the Oregon Coast Tour, it is a good idea to bring hiking boots,
water boots for wading in small streams(optional, but nice),long sleeve
shirts(brushing up against some plants can cause rashes), long
pants(same reason), a light to medium jacket(temperatures range in the
50's to low 70's in the summer), a raincoat(this is Oregon where rain
can occur at anytime), a canteen or sports bottle, backpack, several
small snacks(if you get the munchies and you are 10 miles out in
nature), a hooded sweatshirt(this comes in handy more than you know to
stop the wind), and a camera(with plenty of film...On this hike their
will be stops along the way, but will be infrequent and
unpredictable). Don't pack too heavy. Each day we will take
the bus or van to each hike. Bring only what you need on the
hikes for the day, or you may get too tired too quickly toting all that
stuff; especially up steep inclines. You will be hiking about
twenty miles on the three day trip and close to thirty miles on the
five day trip.
